Procedure For Attaching
H-Beam Splicers

1. Bevel outside edges of flange and cut notch 7/8 inch x 2-1/2 inch in web.
2. Slide splicer onto beam until bar slides into notch.
3. Weld sleeve with full joint penetration to the entire full cross section of the beam using 5/16 inch fillet weld.
4. Turn beam over and weld the other side the same way.

Note: Verify with each contractor per project. Some states have different specifications for welding splicers.
